Share Food Program (“Share”) is the leading hunger relief organization in the Greater Philadelphia region and one of the largest independent food banks in the nation. Food insecurity is a crisis in our communities. The ripple effects of the pandemic, record rates of inflation, and critical cuts to government assistance benefits have plunged even more people into hunger and poverty. Today, Share feeds hundreds of thousands individuals each month—more than half of whom are children and seniors.

Position Overview

The Inventory/Quality Control Coordinator will serve as the key contact for inventory-related issues between Operations, the Warehouse & and Program Teams. This position will solely be responsible for recording & and adjusting inventory, executing and coordinating warehouse cycle counts, communicating with internal teams, and the support of other members of the Inventory/Quality control team.

Core Responsibilities

  • Data entry of all inbound receipts and county splits of donated, purchased, and government goods, including goods earmarked for the Philly Food Rescue team
  • Prepare outbound receipts for the transportation department and process damage and short-ship paperwork
  • Perform all necessary inventory adjustments
  • Execute cycle counts on a regular basis
  • Generate low-balance reports for pantry teams
  • Ensure all outbound and inbound receipts are posted prior to the end-of-month close
  • Furnish all monthly poundage reports for Pantry teams
  • Collaborate with pantry teams on pantry box item makeup to align with packing goals
  • Create all picking lists for order fulfillment team
  • Verify all damaged items counts and record inventory loss for the Department of Agriculture, internal inventory team, and oversee proper disposal of items according to Share and USDA policies and guidelines
  • Support the receiving function at Share through receiving verification, documentation, and error correction
  • Periodic inspection and review of donated items as well as oversight of donation item preparation for outbound shipments
  • Support Inventory/Quality Control function by assisting with SOP creation, updates, and training
  • Additional duties as assigned

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong written and oral communication
  • Proficient in MS Office Modules (Word/Excel)
  • Ability to learn new operating systems
  • Adaptable, and able to switch priorities with little notice
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
  • Ability to collaborate and problem-solve across departments
  • Knowledge of NetSuite Inventory systems a plus
  • Knowledge of produce quality, storage, and handling a plus
  • Experience with RFID/Barcoding a plus
  • Experience in warehouse inventory systems a plus
  • Forklift certification a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Position requires (sitting/walking/standing) up to 100% of the time
  • Position requires keyboard use or repetitive hand motion
  • Position requires (pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying) up to 30 pounds at times
  • Position includes potential exposure to (loud noises, vibration, extreme temperature, allergens) up to 100%
    of the time.

Job Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm

Hourly Rate Range: $20.00 per hour to $21.63 per hour
